Spiritual leadership, workplace spirituality and their effects on meaningful work: Self-transcendence as mediator role

Meaningful work among Indonesian civil servants is shaped by spiritual leadership, workplace spirituality, and self-transcendence. A survey of 150 employees from five Bengkulu city government agencies tested these relationships. All hypothesized paths were supported except the indirect effect of spiritual leadership on meaningful work through self-transcendence, which was not significant. The findings suggest that while spiritual leadership and workplace spirituality directly foster a sense of meaning, self-transcendence does not serve as a mediator in that specific pathway.
