Lucid dreaming can be used to change dream content in a way that benefits the participant, particularly by treating nightmares. The research examines common techniques for achieving lucidity and analyzes the positive impact of becoming lucid. Data collected through interviews with research professionals supports the idea that lucid dreaming can positively alter dream content. The paper also discusses instructions for future lucid dreaming research.
