Religious experience within Christianity often includes extraordinary phenomena such as visions, ecstasy, glossolalia, and stigmata, which are understood as caused by God. These experiences play a role in a person's religious development. The paper deliberately excludes experiences induced by psychedelic drugs, focusing instead on typical phenomena attributed to divine action.
