A short adapted version of the Flow State Scale (FSS-2) for Brazilian-Portuguese and general activities, the FSS-BR-S, was developed and tested with 396 Brazilian participants. The scale, consisting of nine items, showed good internal consistency and a good fit to the data in confirmatory factor analysis. Item quality analysis indicated that its difficulty and differentiating parameters are adequate for estimating overall flow state. The test information curve suggests the short version is useful for estimating flow states. The FSS-BR-S demonstrated sufficient validity for use with Brazilians.
