The exploration of mystical experiences among religious preachers

Religious preachers who had undergone at least one mystical experience described triggers, perceptual experiences, symbolism and meanings, significant figures, reactions, and cultural explanations. The experiences were subjective and varied, leading to a call for an indigenous formal criterion to identify such experiences.
