Filtering the Unitary Information Field: An N-Tier Architectural Model of Informational Access in Conscious Systems

The universe is modeled as a self-generating computational system with an n-tier distributed architecture. A foundational Unitary Information Field (UIF) acts as an atemporal, informationally complete substrate that self-trains toward Dual Symmetry. It generates localized, self-similar informational subsystems called Instantiated Nodes. Conscious observers are biological systems coupled to these Nodes through an Informational Access Boundary (IAB), a filtering mechanism calibrated by evolution and modulated by individual agency. The Informational Access Capacity (IAC) is the underlying variable manifesting as inhibitory control, attention, and meta-cognition, determining IAB permeability. A two-gate model of agency is proposed: evolutionary permission (Gate One) and individual practice (Gate Two). The framework explains cross-species and individual differences in conscious access, altered states, and subjective experience, with testable hypotheses.
