The science of energy therapies and contemplative practice: a conceptual review and the application of zero balancing.

Energy therapies are gaining attention from healthcare practitioners and consumers influenced by Eastern philosophies and ancient healing practices. This article presents a conceptual framework based on quantum physics principles to interpret energetic phenomena, and explores theoretical concepts of energy as a communicational network. Meditation is described as a necessary element of energy therapies, combining scientific knowledge with restorative strategies. The relevance of energy therapies as a path to self-transcendence is highlighted, along with the application of a specific touch technique called Zero Balancing.
