A mindfulness-based stress reduction (MBSR) program reduced anxiety and depression in patients with chronic illnesses by promoting self-awareness, emotional acceptance, and stress management. Twelve patients participated in an 8-week MBSR program at Sam Marie Clinic. Data from in-depth interviews and participant observation were analyzed using thematic analysis. The findings suggest MBSR can improve mental health outcomes in chronic disease care.
