The Effectiveness of Mindfulness-based Cognitive Therapy on Psychological Symptoms and Quality of Life in Systemic Lupus Erythematosus Patients: A Randomized Controlled Trial

Oman Medical Journal October 11, 2017 Kamal Solati, Mohammad Mousavi, Soleiman Kheiri et al.

Mindfulness-based cognitive therapy (MBCT) added to routine medical care reduced psychological symptoms and improved quality of life in patients with systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) compared with routine care alone. The benefit was stable for psychological symptoms and psychological components of quality of life immediately after the eight-session intervention and at a six-month follow-up, but the effect on physical components of quality of life was not statistically significant and was unstable.
