Meditate to create: mindfulness and creativity in an arts and design learning context

Mindfulness meditation practiced over several months helped arts and design students manage anxiety, sharpen focus, and quiet their inner critic. Three themes emerged from students' written reflections: processing anxiety and negative feelings, focusing the mind, and managing the 'Voice of Judgment'. These findings suggest that mindfulness supports creative processes by fostering mental and emotional conditions conducive to creativity.
