EEG Brainwave Analysis for Research on Meditation Influence to the Concentration

Meditation changes rhythmic brainwave activity and power spectra in the prefrontal cortex. Experienced meditators showed unique patterns in the AF3 and AF4 regions (left and right prefrontal lobe) during meditation, as measured by EEG. These changes suggest meditation may improve concentration, which many people—students and office workers especially—struggle with due to modern urban stress. The findings indicate measurable neural effects of meditation on brain activity related to attention.
