During meditation, forehead temperature decreases more than during rest, while chin temperature rises only during meditation. Among people with meditation experience, differences in left and right forehead and chin temperatures between meditation and rest are significant by the tenth minute. In a non-task state, extraversion correlates negatively with left forehead temperature. After a task, left forehead temperature correlates negatively with mindfulness scores. Infrared thermal imaging offers a practical way to study meditation states, with chin and forehead temperature changes as potential indicators.
