Modelling the Dynamic Cognitive System (DCS) interfacing brain and theclassical Zero-Point Field (ZPF) conceptualized within the framework ofstochastic electrodynamics

Indian Journal of Biochemistry and Biophysics May 19, 2026 Rajeshwar Mukherjee, Khushi Kothari

A model of the Dynamic Cognitive System (DCS) describes brain interaction with an all-pervasive cosmic field, identified with the zero-point field (ZPF) of stochastic electrodynamics. The DCS treats this field as an integral component, aiming to address the hard problem of consciousness and explore brain features across different states of consciousness. The model reduces the problem to the dynamics of a harmonic oscillator in the classical vacuum, characterized by the ZPF. A differential equation with a noise term represents the DCS, offering interpretive scope for the physics of cognitive response and qualia, with expected relevance to neural correlates of consciousness.
