Novel Application of Microdosing Glucagon for Hypoglycemia After Total Pancreatectomy and Autologous Islet Transplant
JCEM Case Reports December 15, 2023 Ebne Rafi, Claudia Lewis, Betul Hatipoglu
A 29-year-old woman who underwent total pancreatectomy and autologous islet transplantation (TPAIT) received a microdosing glucagon protocol that improved her postoperative hypoglycemia. The case report describes the dosing regimen and provides continuous glucose monitoring data supporting the finding. This is the first known application of a microdosing glucagon protocol for hypoglycemia after TPAIT, adding to limited evidence on effective treatments for these patients.
