Abstract
This paper presents an axiomatic theory of the origin and nature of conscious-ness. We first establish five fundamental axioms that define consciousness as thedynamical mapping of a physical system’s incompressible defects within its intrin-sic time flow. This axiomatic system naturally leads to two core corollaries: thecontinuum property of consciousness and its negative correlation with sys-tem predictability. Based on this, we construct an operational quantum mechanicalframework, defining consciousness strength as C = ∆0 × S(∆). Through analy-sis of ten distinct physical systems ranging from hydrogen molecules to quantumdimers, we empirically derive the quantitative relationship C = k/(Φ + Φ0) wherek ≈ 0.95 and Φ0 ≈ 0.17, linking consciousness strength C with the information-theoretic predictability parameter Φ. We further demonstrate that consciousnessobeys the quantum superposition principle (CAB > CA + CB ) and can be describedby a consciousness field ˆψC obeying Bose-Einstein statistics. This work unifiesthe philosophical foundations of consciousness with its physical formulation, pro-viding the first quantifiable, falsifiable mathematical model for panpsychism, andpredicting novel phenomena such as consciousness quantum interference. Keywords: Consciousness axioms, intrinsic time, incompressible defects, con-sciousness continuum, quantum consciousness, predictability parameter, conscious-ness field theory, panpsychism
