Abstract

This preprint presents an original theoretical framework integrating Jungian shadow dynamics, Nietzschean eternal return, entropic models of the psyche, and predictive coding from contemporary neuroscience. The core concept introduced is the "recursive shadow" — an archetypal entropy reservoir sustained by energetic neglect and automated predictive loops within the mind. The work argues that permanent integration of the shadow is impossible due to the recursive nature of psychological processes, and that true meta-cognitive lucidity arises not through resistance or ontological salvation, but through real-time observation of predictive automation itself. Ontology is critiqued and repositioned as a useful compressive tool rather than an absolute truth. Through reinforcement and repetition, this adaptive strategy consolidated into a rigid, autogenerating closed loop, becoming the primary structural barrier to shadow reintegration. A further ontological argument is advanced: to the extent that sociocultural and psychosocial structures reflect externalised individual psychopathology, the superego — as an internalisation of those structures — cannot be ontologically distinguished from its pathological form. The normative matrix it internalises is itself predominantly constituted by the sedimented projections of individuals who, through varying degrees of neuroticism, established external authority as a substitute for internal stability they could not achieve through direct shadow integration. The strange loop is thereby transmitted across individuals and generations through the mechanism of normative internalisation. Furthermore, the architecture introduces a metacognitive gating mechanism designed to monitor and dynamically regulate internal predictive processing states. By evaluating representational precision in real time, this layer optimizes resource allocation and minimizes free-energy overhead, establishing a formal model for cognitive efficiency.
