A Delphi study with specialists in otolaryngology, speech-language-hearing pathology, and physical therapy reached consensus that mindfulness is a therapeutic resource for tinnitus but should not be used as monotherapy. The panel agreed on a protocol of once-weekly sessions of at least 30 minutes for 8 weeks, plus daily home practice, with progress monitored using the Tinnitus Handicap Inventory and Visual Analogue Scale. Of 34 statements evaluated, 25 achieved consensus (content validity coefficient ≥ 0.70). The authors recommend these findings be tested in clinical trials to establish evidence and standardize protocols.
