Effects of Mindfulness Therapy on Stress and Mindfulness Levels in Nursing Students: A Network Meta‐Analysis
International Journal of Nursing Practice February 1, 2026 Yunrui Jin, Qian Tang, Min Shui et al.
A network meta-analysis of eight randomized controlled trials with 744 nursing students compared mindfulness-based interventions for stress and mindfulness. Mindfulness-based stress reduction therapy ranked highest for reducing stress scores, followed by mindfulness meditation, then control, with acceptance and commitment therapy ranking lowest. For improving mindfulness scores, mindfulness meditation ranked highest, followed by mindfulness-based stress reduction therapy, control, and acceptance and commitment therapy. The authors conclude that mindfulness meditation might be the optimal intervention but note that methodological constraints across studies require further validation.
