The EEG signature of sensory evidence accumulation during decision formation closely tracks subjective perceptual experience

Scientific Reports March 20, 2019 C. Tagliabue, D. Veniero, C. Benwell et al.

The strength of a neural signal linked to decision-making (the centro-parietal positivity, or CPP) tracks how strongly a person subjectively experiences a visual stimulus, not just the physical intensity of the stimulus itself. This suggests that the brain's evidence-accumulation process is closely tied to conscious perceptual experience.
